Alzheimer's Service and Lunch
Each year around Valentine's Day, Messiah invites the residents of local memory care facilities to come for a worship service and luncheon. The theme is always "love" of course! Volunteers are needed to help host.
Blood Drive
Giving one pint of blood can save up to three lives. Messiah is host to blood drives sponsored through the American Red Cross. A healthy donor can donate every 56 days. Please make a difference and donate.
Caring Hands Food Pantry
The Caring Hands Food Pantry is operated out of First Lutheran Church in Fullerton. We assist the operation weekly. EVERYONE can help by donating food on a regular basis. Messiah has large "soup can" bins around campus for your donations. Extra hands are also welcome to help distribute food on Wednesday mornings to the homeless and hungry.
Caring Hands Kitchen
Help serve a hot nutritious meal to homeless and hungry people in the community. The second Tuesday of each month, Messiah partners with First Lutheran Church in Fullerton to feed hundreds of people in need. If you've never done anything like this, it's a must try.
Crittenton Services for Children & Families
We have partnered on hundreds of projects to benefit this powerhouse of community care. Each year, we make no-sew blankets, collect household supplies for family "dignity baskets" and provide Christmas gifts for local children.
Donate Life
Messiah partners with Donate Life each year. We encourage people to be donors and celebrate those who have donated life and received life through donated organs. Join the team to walk or show support through giving.
Homeless Intervention Shelter of Orange Country HIS-OC
HIS-OC is right in our own backyard and they are always in need of supplies. This program helps people get back on their feet with a roof over their heads and real solutions to getting them back to work and self sufficient again. Here are some easy items for drop off to HIS House anytime: paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, soap, wet wipes or a new pillow.
Love Our Cities
Messiah is proud to be a sponsor of of the Love Our Cities initiative. Several cities have joined this initiative to participate in an annual city-wide serve day. City government, businesses, residents, the faith community, service groups, schools and sports organizations work together on projects to better the community. Yorba Linda, Placentia, Brea, Anaheim, Fullerton, La Habra and Santa Ana are among the growing list of cities that participate in this initiative.
Relay for Life
Messiah has a strong Relay for Life team each year. We help by raising money and walking during a 24-hour walk-a-thon. Everyone knows someone affected by cancer. Get involved and support the Messiah Relay team. Let's make a difference!
Rummage Sale
Each January, we offer a huge rummage sale to benefit various non-profit organizations (most recently it was the Homeless Intervention Shelter - HIS House). Items are needed for the rummage sale, volunteers to sort and manage items and shoppers too!
